Things I want said about my life

That I lived in Christ and He was my main goal
That I lived with purpose, passion and excitement
That I fulfilled my God-given calling and was driven by it
That I made an impact on many lives
That I encouraged someone to live for God
That I put others before myself
That I lived every day as though it were my last
That I never gave up, and lived out what I believed
That I made a difference in the world
That I wasn’t just a wasted Life
That I was a woman of integrity and character

Made into a Beautiful Butterfly

Going about my business this morning, a butterfly perched on the window seal outside caught my attention. I stop ed to observe it up close. It's wings were a gorgeous print of grays, browns and pinks, like something you would see in an art gallery. I then was reminded of the analogy we've all probably heard before, about how the butterfly was an ugly caterpillar at one time, but after going through the ca coon it's made into a beautiful butterfly with wings to fly.
We all were once ugly sinners, but our Creator is honing and molding us into beautiful princesses who will spread our wings and fly!

Easter morning started off busy at 5:30am. I got ready in a hurry, dashed quickly to my car, and headed speedily down the highway to my friends Church. The sunrise service was beautiful, but ended quick because of the chili weather conditions. After breakfast, Sunday School and another morning service, I dashed to my car once again and headed to yet another Church service at my own Church. Speeding to get to my next destination, I suddenly realized that I had not even stopped and to ponder Christ's death and thank Him for dying on the cross so that I could free from the bondage of sin.
In my shame, I was humbled and asked God's forgivness. I had been so busy going to all these "services" that I forgot the real meaning of Easter and why I going to celebrate.
I was then reminded of how we get so caught up in life that we forget the real meaning of it. We get so busy going and doing that we do not (as the old saying goes) "stop and smell the roses". Take time today to just live. Forget about what your to-do-list and just stop, breath and thank God for His goodness in your life.

Life

Life: What's the meaning of it?

As I was relaxing outside enjoying the sun today, I thought about life. My mind began to wonder and I thought about why we are here on this earth. Were we created to fly through life waiting for the next big thing?

A mentor of mine often says tells the story of 10 year old Sam. He was dying to get his to get to highschool, he was dying to get his licence. If I could just graduate already, then I'll be off to college, he thought. After he went to college he was just dying to graduate college. The day came when he grauated college and he could not wait to start his new job. Then, he was just dying to get married, and dying to have children. After he and his wife had children, he was dying for them to grow up and get out of his house. He, then, awaited for the day when he could retire and do whatever he wanted. One day Sam woke up and realized that he was dying!

God did not mean for life to be lived this way. He created us for a bigger purpose. Something bigger than going to college, getting our dream job, getting married, living a 9 to 5, then retire.
We were made to worship and love something bigger than ourselves, our Creator. Eternity is what counts. Smile at someone today, go the extra mile for a friend, tell the ones you love how much you appreciate them.

Are you going to live for that house you've always wanted, that promotion, the "next big thing"?
Or will you live for something bigger? Will you live each day to the fullest?

I want to Live Like I Were Dying, like the song says. (Tim McGraw)
I went skydiving
Iwent rocky mountian climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull neamed Fumanchu
and I loved deeper
and I spoke sweeter
and I gave forgivness I'd been denying
and he said some day I hope you get the chance
to live like you were dying

Let us learn to make the most of our lives, those boring days when we cannot wait for something exciting to happen, the times when things are not going as we planned. If Sam had appreciated each day for what it was worth, maybe he wouldn't have any regrets. Choose to live with no regrets. The "in- betweens" is what makes up life.
